Maker Faire 2015

October 15, 2015

Hey, do you like science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM)? If you do the maker fair is a great place for you. This is my second year and I love it. My first year I just walked around and saw all of the cool exhibits and projects people had to offer. My second year my dad and I volunteered to work there at the information booth, at first I thought it would be boring just sitting there telling people how to get to places, but I was wrong. It was so cool, and while I was doing that I learned more and more on where places are and what zone they are in; I also got to hand out maps in the street and put those sticky bracelets that always stick to your skin on people. When our shift was over at 12:00 we walked around the Faire. We didn’t need a map, because when we were telling people how to get to places the map was basically memorized in our heads. Two of my favorite exhibits were the Puppet Phactory and Learning how to Solder. The Puppet Factory is a bunch of tables filled with recycles things (trash) that you can make anything you want with it. Soldering is similar to using glue, but this is used for electrical wires to make connections. It is good to volunteer for the maker fair because you can get cool perks that are a maker Faire t-shirt, a bag, you get to meet and help a lot of interesting people, and your addition is free.
